Getting to know: Junodream

Hey guys! How are you all doing?

Hanging on for dear life.

I feel that!

Introduce yourselves as a band! How did you all meet and how would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

We are Junodream. We met at school and formed a terrible band but then after years of hard work we are now not bad. We make nostalgic space pop/rock.

Where did the name Junodream come from?

Pink Floyd's 'Julia Dream'. No connection to the song whatsoever, just sheer desperation. Radiohead stole their name from a Talking Heads track. If you're struggling to come up with a name, it's a winning method.

You released your latest single ‘Easy Life’ back in July, could you tell us the story / inspirations behind the single?

The internet is one crazy beast and everyone gives their soul to it and so we wanted to address this mass addiction. It essentially follows someone trading real interactions for a digital existence. So yeah, it's basically about a massive loner who doesn't want to see anyone. No reflection on us, promise.

According to Spotify, you’ve got just over 78 thousand monthly listeners! Wow! Did you ever expect for this many people to love your music?

What does it mean? Where are these people? We demand more information.

Obviously the pandemic has affected many artists in different ways, cancelled gigs, delayed releases and much more. Would you say it’s affected your creativity, or have you all found more inspiration during these unpredictable times?

Covid has well and truly done it. This was the year of live for junodream. You couldn't write it. Instead we've been coming up with a lot of music. Albums worth. Some good, some questionable, some terrible. It's been magical.

With a number of live shows planned for next year, what will it mean for you all to finally be back on stage?

Nerves. Don't cough. Whatever you do, don't cough.

Who are your favourite artists at the moment? Any undiscovered bands you’d like to give a shout out to?

Many, but we'll narrow it down to Drugstore Romeos and Billie Marten. Not exactly undiscovered.

Can we expect any more music in 2020, or any more announcements we can look forward to? I’d love for you guys to release a vinyl!

Big plans coming your way, cap'n. Bigger and better. And yes, we could be printing on wax, vinylly!

Buzzing! I can’t wait to hear them! Give Junodream a listen on Spotify:
