Before I even heard their music, I was drawn to HMS Sirens. It’s rare to receive a review request with an element of humour, usually it’s just all the details – but these boys care-free attitude certainly works in their favour.
I can’t say I know a lot about the band, I hadn’t listened to their music before writing this review. But I know they have no interest in sounding like every other band who are fighting to be found, they’re unique and sound “fuck all like oasis”.
Hailing from Manchester, HMS Sirens are from a city with a music scene like no other. But, this doesn’t phase them and why should it? They released their debut EP ‘Polaroids’ on the 31st July, it’s a combination of dark and sleazy indie – the three tracks take the listener on a journey of discovery; broken hearts, dreams, and a loss of hope.
Can we expect more music? I’m not sure, as their Spotify bio says “Polaroids is their debut EP, it may also be their last”.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
