You know when you listen to a song and it completely changes your mood? Suddenly you feel optimistic and find yourself dancing around your room?
Well, I’d like to introduce The Motive. Hailing from SW London, the quintet is undeniably one of the best indie-rock bands I have heard in a while.
Think Two Door Cinema Club, Catfish and The Bottlemen and Bombay Bicycle Club. They harbour such a big energetic sound I can’t help but think witnessing their live performance would be absolutely insane.
I won’t lie on first listen of their new single ‘Rush’, I played it an embarrassing amount of times. I’m a sucker for a catchy indie-rock tune but The Motive is so easily likeable I found myself adding ‘Rush’ and other releases to various Spotify playlists.
On every new play you notice an element to the song you weren’t aware of before; ‘Rush’ gets bigger and better with every listen. We’re introduced to guitar riffs that are not just big but mouth-wateringly excellent and passionate vocals which will make you feel as though The Motive is singing directly to you. And in turn, the boys have created and expertly crafted the most anthemic indie-rock tune which should be featured on all radio stations and playlists. Everywhere really!
I could talk about ‘Rush’ in grave detail, but it’s hard to put into words how fantastic this release truly is. Give it a listen below and see what you think!
