Twinninetysix - EP Review 'Need To Know'

Twinninetysix, a brand-new indie-pop duo formed of identical twin brothers. Get the name play? I love it. Anyway, only twenty-three years old and the lads are ready to take on the world. 2020 has been a busy year for them and we aren’t even halfway through, although COVID-19 has prevented them from playing any gigs as of yet, they’ve been busy crafting and perfecting their music.

As a follow up to their first two singles ‘I’ll find the one’ and ‘Caving In’, they’ve just released their four-track EP ‘Need To Know.’ Lasting for 13 minutes and eight seconds, the EP takes the listener on a rollercoaster of emotions and genres; effervescently upbeat indie tunes, to the end of the EP with intensely intimate last tracks ‘Future’ and ‘You’. No less we are left with a kind of nostalgic melancholy. Not the kind that gets you down and, in the dumps, but the same feeling you get after something incredible has ended.

Twinninetysix are only just getting started. And I for one can’t wait to see what else they pull out of the woodwork.
